The end of August is upon us already, how on earth has this happened?! August has been, quite possibly, the busiest month of my life so far.
It saw me finish my Training Contract as a Trainee Solicitor, become unemployed (due to leaving the country), be one of the bridesmaids at my friends wedding and then just casually up-heave and move to the Bahamas!
On top of that I’ve had two wonderful leaving parties and appointments with every single person I know in the world before I leave which has been lovely but it’s quite a lot for one brain to process!
As I write this I’m sat at Orlando airport, waiting for my delayed plane to the Bahamas. I guess I will have to get used to the chilled out Island mentality!
Anywho, onto what I’ve been loving this month..
First up, it has to be the beautiful ColourPop Yes Please palette. Dubbed a dupe for the Natasha Denona palette, the warm tones are super summery and gorgeous. I’m yet to try the out there yellow but I’ve loved the warm reds and golden shimmers. I’m planning to do a post on it properly but the shades blend beautifully as you would expect from ColourPop.
Even though August hasn’t been hot and sunny as August should be, it’s certainly been muggy AF which = sweaty makeup face. The Estee Lauder Double Wear Light has been the perfect solution as it gives a decent coverage without feeling heavy on the skin.
The Sweet Peach Papa Don’t Peach Blusher from Too Faced has been a firm fave recently it’s so easy to pop on for a summery look. It has a subtle sheen and adds a nice colour to the cheeks. It smells peachy too which is a nice extra touch.
I’ve been applying it with the Spectrum A05 Blusher Brush which was recommended to me by a few people on Twitter a while ago when I asked for a good smaller blusher brush. I already had it in a set I was kindly sent from Spectrum ages ago but forgot about it, and since re-discovering it I haven’t stopped using it! It really is the perfect size and shape for applying blush as I have small cheeks and don’t want a huge blob of colour in the middle.
Lastly the L’Oreal Paradise Mascara has been a firm fave of mine since the day I tried it. I love the finish it creates as the short dense bristles really volumise and separate perfectly. You can see my full review on it here, where I also talk about it being a dupe for a higher end mascara!
So that’s what I’ve been loving this month, have any of my favourites made it into yours? Let me know in the comments below!
