ColourPop Haul | Collab with Helpless Whilst Drying

ColourPop is a brand I lust after from afar, being the wrong side of the pond to haul freely without being hit with huge customs charges.

When our good friend Molly from The Rose Beauty Files was in America she asked Rachael from Helpless Whilst Drying and I if we wanted anything bringing back. The only thing we wanted was ColourPop and as Molly was travelling to various places and staying in hostels Rachael and I decided to bite the bullet and place an order to be delivered to the UK and share the customs charges.

So we both trawled through the site, chose everything we wanted, whittled it down to a reasonable amount (I think we both had about $80 each on our wishlist of which we managed to halve) and spent about $40 each on some goodies.

Today I thought I’d show you what I got and share our delivery and customs experience!

First up, how adorable is the little card that comes with the order?! The interior of the box is to die for as well, but I gave that to Rachael so check out her post for the photos!

International orders over $50 benefit from free delivery which was good as our order was $80, but this means you get stung with a hefty customs charge before you can enjoy your goodies.

From ordering to receiving the products took less than two weeks the delivery service is actually super quick I was really surprised. The post office slip you one of their delightful cards through the door to let you know you have to go and pay before you can get your hands on the delivery.

Our customs charge was £24, so we split it £12 between us which isn’t too bad but there is no way I’d pay £24 for one order for myself which I understand is the average cost for any order over $50.

So all in all the shipping was pretty pain free apart from the hefty payment but it was all smooth and quick which I was pleasantly surprised about.

So onto the good stuff – what I got! It was sooo hard to narrow my choices down but I decided to go for ones I’ve been wanting for a while now which included:

From the Kathleen Lights collab –Ultra Satin Lip in Aquarius, Ultra Matte Lip in Aquarius 2 and Lippie Stix in Lumiere. I also got a Lippie Stix in the shade Brink and the Super Shock Shadow set in Phase Me Out.

I’ve been watching and loving Kathleen Lights for a while so I was excited to finally get my hands on some of the products she made in her collab with ColourPop. The Ultra Satin Lip in Aquarius and Ultra Matte Lip in Aquarius 2 are both nudes, with Aquarius being a pinky nude and Aquarius 2 being a mauve nude. The Ultra Matte lip is supposed to be long wearing and kiss proof whilst the Ultra Satin Lip is supposed to be comfortable to wear. Both are $6 each.

I have wanted to try the Lippie Stix in so long and got the shades Lumiere and Brink which both turned out to be quite similar in tone, both being darker shades, oops! Both matte finishes, Brink is a terracotta rose and Lumiere is a mauve pink. Both are $5 each.

All the lip products swatched perfectly and are all SO pigmented.

The Phase Me Out Set includes four beautiful peach toned Super Shock Eyeshadows in the shades Itty Bitty Going Rogue, One By One and Flipper. This set was $18 which is a $2 saving if you bought them all separately.

The formula is SO buttery and is a joy to swatch, with each of these only needing one swipe for serious colour pay off.

Out of the four shades there is one matte and three shimmer shades, with the matte having slightly less pigmentation than the shimmers.

I can’t wait to start creating looks with this set!

Rachael chose a completely different set of products apart from Lumiere which was the only product we both got! Check out her post to see what she got, including a very gorgeous bright pink eyeshadow and a highlight to die for (which I REALLY want now after seeing it IRL)

I srsly wish we could get ColourPop without the customs charges as the products are SO affordable and amazing quality. I’m always lusting after everything on the site!

Have you tried any of these ColourPop products? What are your experiences of ordering ColourPop internationally or if you’re lucky enough to benefit from free domestic shipping? I’d love to know in the comments below!
