Skincare is a routine that is hard to get right and it takes a lot of trial and error to determine what combination of lotions and potions works for your skin.
I have finally found a combination of products that I am loving at the moment and are working well for my oily and drier skin.
Everyone is different and products that work for one won’t necessarily work for another, but this is the combo of skincare products that I have found are working for me at the moment.
First up I love to remove makeup with a cream cleanser and a real luxury treat for me is using the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. Each use makes me feel like I’m being treated in a spa as the scent is so gorgeous. It removes every trace of makeup and leaves your skin feeling clean and nourished.
To tone I love spritzing my face with the LUSH Tea Tree Toner. It is so refreshing and has done a great job (along with others) of keeping those pesky spots at bay as tea tree is a must have ingredient for spot prone skin. It really wakes me up in the morning and leaves skin feeling fresh ready to apply moisturiser. Despite it contained tea tree the smell and strength is subtle enough not to be overpowering or strong.
My next step is to apply the Botanics All Bright Radiance Concentrate Serum before my moisturiser. This costs a mere £2.50 and contains natural ingredients to brighten the skin and give more radiance over time. This is a lightweight serum and a pleasure to use as the skin soaks in the goodness leaving a nice base for moisturiser.
My first product for moisturising is the Avene Cleanance Expert Emulsion. This is a lotion thin in consistency that is designed for spot prone skin. I first tried this in a generous sized sample and I really noticed a difference both during use and after use as my skin went back to being very spot prone. I use this on my chin and in my t zone and it is honestly a game changer for me and I could not be without it now.
Secondly I use the No7 Youthful Replenishing Facial Oil on my forehead and neck. I have only recently started using this but so far I am loving it. I read in a skincare tip article on Cosmo or the like that to combat greasy skin you need to apply oil. I totally didn’t believe this but when a colleague told me she combatted wrinkles using facial oil I thought I would put it to the test. My forehead has been less greasy since using this so there must be some benefits, but as for wrinkles I can’t comment yet! This is a very quick drying non-greasy oil that actually dries quicker than any face cream I’ve tried.
For the rest of my face I moisturise with the Garnier Moisture Bomb Day Cream which is a lovely nourishing consistency that soaks into the skin immediately leaving it soft and moisturised. A really affordable moisturiser with a pleasant scent that is kind to the skin.
So those are the skincare products I am loving at the moment. Have you tried any of these? I would love to know your thoughts below. Or if you know of any products I should be using for my oily skin please let me know as I love to try out new products!
