This was a set I picked up in the Superdrug sale for a proper bargain price of a fiver! It contains 3 brushes, the duo face sculp and illuminating powder.
Even at full price the set is value for money. I can’t resist a gift set at the best of times so at this price it would be rude not to pick this up!
So how does the set perform?
The Duo Sculp is a blush and bronzer set for adding colour and contour.
Unfortunately, neither of these colours suit my skin tone. The right side I assume is for contour and it’s way too dark for me and it went weird and patchy on my skin. The left side I assume is the blush but its a pale peachy colour and doesn’t suit my skin tone nor does it add any colour to my cheeks. I was disappointed to discover this whole pan wasn’t for me. That’s not to say it won’t work better on perhaps more darker skin tones that aren’t prone to dryness.
The illuminating highlight on the other hand did perform better for me.
It’s a lovely quilted style in a gorgeous gold colour. At a stretch I would say it’s a close budget dupe for the Becca V Jaclyn Hill Champagne Pop Highlighter just with less shimmer. As it isnt too shimmery the highlight is quite subtle which is a great look for the day time.
I love the rose gold and black design of the brushes they remind me somewhat of the more expensive Zoeva brushes!
The powder brush is the F104 and performs well. The F105 is the contour brush which I already have from a while ago but in all black and this one seems to be fatter than the one I have and therefore doesn’t give as sharp of a contour as my original so unfortunately I’ve stuck with my one, although this would be good for blusher as it’s quite fluffy. F103 is a stippling brush which I haven’t tried yet as I have one on the go and this seems a bit skinny for a stippling brush one’s I’ve had in the past have been much bigger than this.
So all in all this was a bargain and I will make use of maybe half the products but I am glad I didn’t pay full price. I will maybe stick with buying individual products from MR that I know I love.
Have you tried any of these MR products? What did you think? Let me know below!
