If you weren’t aware already from social media, Fashion Week took place in London this week and was all over the bigger/London bloggers Insta stories. So much so that you basically felt like you were there, except lying on the sofa in your jammies, so you get the best of both worlds right?
This Tuesday Nottingham events company Its In Nottingham, held a Notts Fashion Week Launch Event ahead of the main shows at the end of March to showcase some of the key Spring looks we can expect to see hitting the shops soon.
The event was held at The Beauty Temple in Nottingham, a beautiful beauty boutique that was so Insta worthy it’s untrue! There were food and cocktails and plenty of Notts blogger babes there too, what more could I ask for!
The Beauty Temple is a gorgeous boutique on Queen Street which boasts velvet seating areas to relax and enjoy treatments, a private beauty room, insta-worthy low lighting and shelves full of displays of makeup and beauty products and pretty mirrors galore.
MOD Pizza, a super fast pizza concept off the Market Square, provided a huge selection of pizzas (the perfect event food, pizza is the way to my heart) followed by miniature cupcakes for afters!
The main fashion show in March features outfit choices for every budget and taste, showcasing three different shows to suit everyone.
The first is From Campus to Club for students of Nottingham which takes it’s outfits from Primark, New Look, River Island to name a few, Desk to Dinner which features versatile outfits that are suitable for the office and after work drinks from M&S, John Lewis, French Connection and Next and finally Style Classics for the more high end enthusiasts from the likes of Ted Baker, White Company, Gigi Bottega and Karen Millen.
For men, they are taking inspiration from Moss Bros, Slaters, TM Lewin and Jack Wolfskin.
The looks we saw at the cat walk on Tuesday were modelled by both a male and female model who will be in the main fashion show in March and absolutely killed it strutting their stuff round the salon.
The new trends include Checkmate which features, you guessed it, checks!, Spring Bling which boasts a floral theme, Back to the Fuschia featuring all things pink, Statement Sportswear which makes luxe sportswear wearable for everyday and finally Twisted Tailoring which is totallyy random and could be anywhere from having one sleeve cut off to having one sleeve attached with ties rather than sewn on.
My personal favourite was the sports luxe, a beautiful orange jumpsuit that looks like it would hide a multitude of sins being the right level of fitted and baggy. The model’s poses are on point I am so envious!
We were given a goodie bag at the end with lots of treats in including a free pizza at MOD (hell yes, they know the way to my heart is with pizza!), a cute glass bottle of Orangina, the most instagrammable bag of strawberry and prosecco sweets ever from East Midlands based sweet shop The Treat Kitchen and plenty of magazines and information about the upcoming spring fashion trends!
What do you think to the spring fashion trends? I’d love to know in the comments!
