Reflecting on 2017 and Goals for 2018

2017 has been a strange year and when I think about all that I have accomplished and all that has happened, it’s flown by.

I thought I’d reflect on the events of the past year and set out some goals for the next, in the hope that writing them down for the world to see will help to make them happen!

If I was to sum up 2017 in one world I would say eventful. There have been some good times and some very crap times and a hella lot has happened in 12 months but I can’t say it’s been entirely crap.

A lot has managed to happen in a short amount of time. I overcame a period of depression and anxiety and CBT helped me to manage my expectations of my own emotions which is an achievement in itself.

I qualified as a Solicitor, which was 6 years and a lot of hard work in the making and I am very proud of that.

Jay and I moved abroad with the hope of making a go of it for a couple of years but sadly a lot of bad luck and being lied too and just the general experience meant it didn’t work out for us so we moved back home.

Now we are both living with our parents, looking for jobs which are unrelated to our qualifications and trying to get back a sense of normality. Sometimes things don’t work out the way you plan and I’ve come to realise that that’s okay. You move on and you grow as a result. You become a stronger person.

So that brings me onto my goals for 2018: I want to be able to do a job I enjoy and save up enough money to move out again with Jay and feel happy and content and stable, as I am definitely ready for a bit of stability right now.

I need to get back into the gym and drop a couple of dress sizes. I want to read more books, and spend less time on social media. I want to grow my blog as this is the one thing in my life that has been solidly present for the last two and a half years and I still love every second of it.

I cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store, but I am determined it is going to be my year and the year that everything works out, because that would be nice for once!

So here’s to a new year and a new start. Let’s hope it brings us all love and happiness! Happy New Year to everyone that takes the time to read my little slice of the internet, I am forever grateful you choose to support me.

I love you all. Thank you so much for reading!
