Summer is officially here in the UK (we have had a heatwave this week and I’m not sure anyone has handled it very well, me included) which means its time to rock summery nails.
Barry M are by far my favourite drugstore nail brand, making beautiful colours for affordable prices. Anytime they launch anything new I get super excited and have to get my hands on them!
They have added some beautiful new colours to their Coconut Infusion range just in time for summer so I picked up some super bright sunshine ready colours to try.
The Coconut Infusion range, if it wasn’t already obvious by the title, contains coconut oil and coconut water which nourish the nails and give a gel-like shine. It also says it ensures longer lasting colour, but I will get onto that later!
The colours I chose are Aloha, Flip Flop and Scuba. Aloha is a gorgeous bright pink, Flip Flop a beautiful bright orange and Scuba is a deep mint green. All very summer appropriate!
PACKAGING
The packaging of the Coconut Infusion range has a very blogger approved style lettering in bronze with a shimmery bronze lid which sets it apart from other Barry M nail ranges, meaning I can easily find these in my collection!
APPLICATION
The brush of the polish is the perfect size for applying evenly all over the nail in a maximum of two strokes which allows for an easy and thin enough application. The hydrating coconut properties means you don’t need a base coat for these polishes.
DRYING TIME
This range dries so fast which means you can apply it so quickly and don’t have to sit and wait for any tackiness to subside. It’s also great for a quick fix when you don’t have much time.
FINISH
The finish of these polishes is exactly as Barry M describe it – with a lovely gel-like shine. My Mum actually thought I’d been to the salon when she saw my nails they’re that shiny!
You don’t necessarily require a top coat for this as they are so shiny but I always pop one on for extra protection.
You can see just how shiny they are with Aloha on my nails, it does look like a gel mani!.
LASTING POWER
This is the only downfall of these polishes – they chip after a day, or two if you’re lucky. The shine also starts to wear off after day two which is a little disappointing.
OVERALL
Despite the short wear time, the colour and shine of these polishes is always something that pulls me back to want more, I have about 6 or 7 polishes from this range which proves this still hasn’t put me off!
They keep bringing out more and more amazing colours and I can’t resist picking them up as they are so easily to fit into my busy schedule and look so lovely.
BUY THEM
They retail at £4.99 at both Boots and Superdrug and are always on offer so they are a good value polish in my opinion.
