Birchbox x Pinterest January Unboxing 

I’m a bit late with this one this month as there was a bit of a mix up and I was sent the December box again! So with sending that back and waiting for another one I received it pretty late.

To be totally honest I wish I’d kept the December box because I am totally disappointed with the January box!

Firstly I do want to say I love the box I think the design is very effective. The contents however to sum up in one word are BORING.

Here’s what I got –

Benefit They’re Real Tinted Lash Primer

OK I tell a lie because I do LOVE this sample! I have had it before however so wasn’t as excited as I would be if I’d never tried it. I got it as a freebie in Elle (I think) magazine and it does work wonders and is very good.

Jelly Pong Pong Waterliner

This to me looks an off creamy colour although it may mean that it isn’t too obvious as a waterline brightener. I have a couple of similar products already and don’t have time to use them as they aren’t a staple in my beauty routine so no doubt this will just sit with the rest. Although to be fair I probably should give them a go!

Caudalie Shower Gel

I hate getting shower gels in these boxes and get one almost every time from Birchbox. Unless it’s Lush I’m not bothered. Boring, soz.

Parlor Moisturising and Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner

Usually I dislike shampoo and conditioner samples but this one does sound like one for me. However how stingy is the conditioner sample?! It isn’t even the same size bottle as the shampoo! And with my thick hair I always need more conditioner than shampoo. Very disappointed at how tight they are with this sample.

Absolution L’Eau Soir et Matin Cleansing Water

I don’t mind face products in these boxes and this one claims to remove makeup easily so I will put it through its paces.

Birchbox Compact Mirror

A beauty bonus. Now I challenge you to find a single girl who doesn’t have a dozen compact mirrors lying around?! I have literally chucked loads away in past clear outs as I accumulate so many. I have at least 3 in my handbag already so for me this is another boring item to get shoved into a drawer and be thrown away next spring clean.

Postcards 

Not really sure what to say about these. Who uses postcards nowadays?! A couple may be pretty for photo prop purposes but that is all.

Sorry to be a moaning myrtle this month but I am so disappointed at how rubbish this month is (besides the Benefit).

I was going to cancel BB but after reading the February sneak peek they promise sparkles and I cannot resist a bit of sparkle so I am staying on to see what this brings. After that I am definitely cancelling BB for good it has disappointed me too many times it clearly isn’t for me. Sorry BB!
