I was eagerly awaiting for this box for a couple of months, ever since I got the email saying I could choose which mascara I wanted. I then found out it was Glossy Getaway and got excited for summery things.
There were 4 different colours Glossybox were sending out, and I got the green one much to my dislike as we all know I love pink and will always opt for that when there is a choice, haha! The packaging is cool with the monochrome print of London.
Alas I don’t get the Getaway theme as to me it has no resemblance to going away, but I am pleased with 4 out of 5 products, so without further ado let me tell you what I got –
From left to right – Loceryl Nail Gel, Absolute New York Velvet Lippie, Revlon All In One Mascara, Proper Corn Sweet and Salty, Crabtree and Evelyn Somerset Meadow Handcream, Bee Good Youth Enhancing Plump and Firm Moisturiser.
So I’ll start with a little rant and get it out the way. This Loceryl Nail Gel is something I’d go to the pharmacy in Boots to get should I suffer from discoloured nails. It isn’t a common issue that everyone suffers from so much so as to include it in a beauty box. Very disappointed in this. Even the packaging is very medically. Others I’ve seen so far got a full size Hawaiian Tropic Sun Lotion or a pack of the Invisibobbles so to get this instead I’m so disappointed!
Anyway moving on!
This Absolute New York Velvet Lippie is a brand I’ve never heard of before. This velvet lippie has a soft moussy formula that is matte on the lips but not at all drying. The colour however is extremely bright and I tried it on my lips and it is very extreme!
This is the one where I chose which one I wanted out of about 4 Revlon mascaras, all of which did different things, and I chose the All In One Mascara because I was intrigued to see how it did everything! It has a very small plastic wand and I am curious to see how it applies. I like the packaging too as it isn’t your typical circular tube.
Usually I don’t like hand creams in beauty boxes, but this Crabtree and Evelyn Somerset Meadow is from a luxury brand so I don’t mind as much. The scent is subtle and fresh but not as strong as some of the C and E creams I’ve tried before.
I don’t mind face creams that promote plumping and luminosity so I am looking forward to trying this Bee Good Youth Enhancing Plump and Firm Moisturiser and incorporating it into my daily routine.
Also thrown in was a small packet of Proper Corn Sweet and Salty Popcorn. I enjoy popcorn and they are a good snack size. A nice extra unexpected treat!
