It’s that time of the month again! We are literally in June, which is half way through the year. Half way! How did this happen?!
Anyway, May has had a few nice summery days but has overall been pretty miserable weather wise, although we have had two bank holiday weekends, so I can’t really complain!
May has been a month of trying some new makeup products as we are (supposedly) entering the more summery months and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been loving.
First up is the gorgeous Primark Pure Glow Highlight Palette. This costs just £5. Yep you read that right, just 5 £1s and it is SO pigmented and beautiful. A full review of this will follow in the next week or so but to sum up – OMGosh you need this in your life, go to Primark rn and buy it. Like now!
Next is my new baby the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette. Molly, from The Rose Beauty Files, and I did a palette swap to try before we bought and I borrowed this from her (she has my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance FYI) to give it a go.
I loved the peachy shades SO much I went and purchased it myself with a voucher I had so it was even cheaper, winning! Again a full review will follow shortly, but I have reached for this every time I’ve applied eyeshadow this month.
Another firm favourite of mine this month has to be the ColourPop Ultra Matte Lip in Aquarius. This is their collab with Kathleen Lights and it’s the perfect nude and the perfect matte liquid lipstick formula. I picked this up in my ColourPop Haul which you can read here and I haven’t been able to put it down. Paired with eyes from the Sweet Peach Palette it’s a subtle yet gorgeous look and I’ve been loving it.
Something else I’ve been reaching for loads recently is the newly acquired Narciso Rodriguez For Her Perfume that I won in the raffle at the House of Fraser Beauty Event which you can read about here.
I had never before heard of this brand or scent and I absolutely love it, it is strong enough that you can smell it when you move but not so strong as to be overpowering and I’ve been loving it for both night and day time. It has floral-fruity, amber and woody notes and it must be the mix of floral and fruity that I love as I am into these kind of notes in a perfume.
Finally, ever since I picked up MAC x Fleur De Force lipstick, it inspired me to read her book The Luxe Life. In this I found the section “5 Easy Up Do Hairstyles” and very quickly found my new go to hairstyle! In summer I hate blow drying my hair as it takes so long and makes me so hot and bothered especially when the weather is warm so I’m always looking for easy and nice ways to put my hair straight up with minimal effort.
Enter the “milkmaid braids“. This is essentially pigtail plaits, which you pin up at the bottom of your hairline on top of one another. I’ve been reaching for this style so much this month and had loads of compliments for it! It’s super easy even if it does sometimes take a couple of attempts to hide the ends of your plaits!
So that’s what I’ve been loving in the month of May! Did any of my faves make it into yours? Have you tried anything featured in my faves? I’d love to know in the comments below!
Thank you so much for reading ♥
