I have had these Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks sat in my room for a long time not quite knowing how to photograph them, until I borrowed my friends DSLR camera for a couple of weeks and inspiration hit.
I won this fabulous set from Gemma Nicole Beauty’s Giveaway back in November and I am incredibly grateful to have been able to own this huge set of the Vivid Matte Liquid Lipsticks. Gemma I apologise for taking this long to feature these on my blog but I wanted to do the photos justice!
I have a variety of colour from nudes, pinks, purple, orange and red and they are all beautiful so keep reading to see my review of them!
The tube is square and clear so you can see the colour inside. The trade mark Vivid Matte Liquid is printed down the tube and it’s finished off with a matte black square lid. These don’t look particularly high end or fancy but square rather than round packaging sets it apart from others in the drugstore and certainly makes it stand out from the rest.
I think I’ve got the whole range here which consists of a nude, rose pink, dusky purple, bright pink, fuscia, deep pink, orange and a classic red.
They apply with a doe foot applicator which is flat and allows easy application onto the lips. I would recommend using a lip liner as it can spread a little out onto the skin.
The formula has a moussey texture which reminds me very much of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. It doesn’t dry completely matte I would say semi-matte and for this reason they are not at all drying, they feel comfortable and light on the lips.
They also have a really nice scent and taste which you don’t get from many lip products which is a welcome addition.
You can see from the swatch below that they have a mousse like texture. For this reason I think they make a really great day time option as they are super light on the lips.
In terms of lasting power they don’t last too long due to them being quite light and moussey and need re-applying after meals.
These are £6.99 each which is a reasonable price for a decent matte liquid lipstick as these are hard to find in the drugstore.
These are a great liquid lipstick as they are so comfortable to wear and don’t feel drying. They remind me so much of the Soft Matte Lip Creams but with these you get a bigger product size however obviously not the vast shade range that NYX has. Definitely worth picking one up if you like a lighter feeling semi-matte liquid lipstick.
Thank you so much to Gemma for sending me such a generous and fabulous prize! Please show her some love on her Twitter and Instagram and her gorgeous blog here.
