Shea Moisture are a natural and vegan hair care range that cover a whole host of hair needs. The Daily Hydration Range cleanses and nourishes all hair types using 100% coconut oil. In the range there is a shampoo, conditioner and a leave in conditioning spray and they all smell absolutely incredible.
The packaging of the Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Hydration is made from 25% recycled plastic and is a huge 384ml in size. The shampoo opens with a flip up spout, the conditioner has a pump dispenser and the leave in spray has a spritz dispenser. The label is an off white colour to match the coconut ingredients inside.
Shea Moisture as a brand have a lovely story behind them – the founders have continued their grandmothers legacy of selling shea butter and have created the natural brand you see today. Read more about their story and the ethos behind the brand in my review of another range of Shea Moisture products here.
Product and ingredients
The products are made from natural sources and include 100% virgin coconut and shea oils, creamy coconut milk and acacia senegal. They contain no parabens, sulfates, synthetic colour or other nasties. The ingredients work to penetrate the hair shaft to re-hydrate and enhance natural softness and reduce frizz.
Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Hydration Shampoo
The Shampoo is of quite thin consistency which needs two generous portions to lather up. Two applications of shampoo is the amount you to use for best results.
Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Hydration Conditioner
The Conditioner is a lot thinner than I’m used too and I have to have at least six pumps worth to cover my thick hair. I also have to make sure my hair is properly wrung out so it’s not too wet for the conditioner to stick properly. So bare this in mind if you have thick hair!
Shea Moisture 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Hydration Leave In Conditioner Spray
This is a lovely product you spray on after you’ve washed your hair and leave in. You can use it before blow drying and, the aspect I love the most about this, is it works on air-dried hair. Most nights I wash my hair I leave it to air-dry overnight as it’s too much hassle to dry, so this is a major bonus that it works well without the use of a hairdryer. Focus only on the length and ends with this, never on the roots otherwise your hair will be grease city!
Results of the Shea Moisture Coconut Oil Hydration Range
I find when using this range together my hair feels so soft and shiny and it smells incredible. The scent lasts a lot longer than other shampoos and I can still smell the coconut at the end of day 1 of my hair wash which doesn’t often happen as my hair is so thick it soaks up a lot of external smells so I’m impressed with the lasting scent of this range.
Overall thoughts on Shea Moisture Coconut Oil Hydration Range
I really like the Shea Moisture ranges (see my other review here) as I love the ethos and the story behind it and also the quality of the products is very good. I love the effect it as on my hair and a big yes factor from me is the leave in conditioner working on air dried hair.
