We all have those items in our handbag that we think we’ll never use but when it does come to needing them, you’re so grateful it’s there. Handbag’s are somewhat like a black hole, with an infinite amount of space and items hidden in every nook, or at least mine is anyway! Although not everything is essential (receipts, empty chewing gum packets and chocolate wrappers I’m looking at you) there are some staples that need to be there when times of need.
There are items that my friends ask me if I have in my handbag and I’m like lol no don’t be daft I wouldn’t keep that in there, and others where they’re amazed I’ve thought to include it in the contents of my handbag. Do you get what I mean?
One of those is Tweezers. An essential item of the dressing table, but why keep it in your bag? Well IMO you never know when you might need it. Out somewhere nice and spot a stray brow hair (or worse) – whip out your tweezers. A frolic in the park and get a splinter? Tweezers. Anything fiddly that requires a very small and steady hand, tweezers can be used for everything. A very small and light item that you won’t even notice is there yet could be a savior when you least expect. The Rubis Switzerland Tweezers* are perfect, have a sturdy slanted end and they’re rose gold. Need I say more.
This item is one that I absolutely HAVE to have on me at all times, and that’s a miniature perfume. A normal sized perfume takes up far too much room and weight, but being able to decant it into a smaller, lighter, travel friendly receptacle is nothing short of a miracle (okay, maybe a tad dramatic.)
The Twist & Spritz Refillable Atomiser* is perfect – with this little gem you can spritz your favourite scent into the bottle and it’s good to carry round with you for top ups all day long. The lid pops up and down so you don’t get any accidental sprays in your bag too. Also a great way to take your perfume on holiday with you, especially if you only have hand luggage, FYI.
One that I didn’t know I needed until I got it was the Rosehip Plus Rosehip Oil* Organic and cold presses, this has been a life saver in the warmer weather. You can use it for anything, and I’ve been using it if my hands and cuticles feel a little dry whilst I’m out and about and it’s great to put on sun burnt skin (don’t let it get that far though, wear your SPF kids). If you’re away for the weekend, it can double as a great anti-wrinkle savior and has so many great properties for use daily at the dressing table too.
Of course I couldn’t leave out a lip gloss, cos you need to be able to keep those lips topped up all day long. Too Faced Sweet Peach Lip Oil is my summer gloss of choice. Sunnies in case of an emergency, a small SPF and of course, your phone, keys and wallet!
Phone case is from Caseapp (see my post here), sunnies from Primark and bag is from eBay.
