My hair has serious struggles with frizz, especially when the weather is humid and warm.
The weather in England has been so hit and miss lately – it’s either sunny and hot which makes my hair frizz, super humid which makes my hair frizz, or rainy and wet which, guess what, makes my hair frizz!
I thought I’d tried everything, until I was asked if I wanted to try the new additions to the John Frieda Frizz Ease range.
I was given the 10 Day Tamer Pre-Wash Treatment* and the Extra Strength 6 Effects Serum* to try and I’ve put them to the test!
First up, the 10 Day Tamer Pre-Wash Treatment. This is a product you use BEFORE you shampoo on dry hair. A little weird to get your head around I know as you have to remember to pop it on 10 minutes before your shower.
You basically apply it all over the hair and ensure it’s all saturated in the product and leave it to work it’s magic before washing it out in the shower, shampooing and conditioning as normal.
The instructions recommend sectioning the hair to ensure each bit is saturated, which I would definitely agree with especially if you have thick hair like me.
The product contains enough for at least two treatments which you only need to do every 10 days as the benefit from the treatment lasts this long even between washes.
You can buy this for £12.99 from Boots.
After you’ve washed your hair, apply the Extra Strength 6 Effects Serum which contains silk protein to eliminates frizz and protect from humidity and heat. Apply to the lengths and ends only, not to the roots.
Dispense 1 pump and rub it into the palm before distributing sparingly through the hair. Add more product if you hair is longer. Mine is medium length and the optimum amount for me is 3-4 pumps, anymore and it has a greasy feel.
You can buy this for £6.99 from Boots.
So what were the results? I washed my hair the night before I was due to go on a hen do which was guaranteed to be a sweaty affair dancing the night away.
My hair genuinely stayed frizz free and smooth after a warm three hour drive, lugging bags into the house up three flights of stairs, setting up, dressing up and dancing. Safe to say I got very sweaty but my hair didn’t feel the affects!
I was very impressed how it tamed my hair and made it stay like that throughout the whole weekend! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who suffers from frizzy hair and needs it to be smooth, tamed and held that way!
John Frieda are definitely experts in the hair game and their presence in the drugstore is huge. The products are really affordable and have that higher end feel with both the packaging and the product itself. They’re classed as professional haircare in Boots and I can see why!
