As a golden blondie I know how hard it can be to maintain a decent colour in between dyes, especially if you dye your hair at home. The Provoke Liquid Blonde Colour Activating Treatment Shampoo and Intense Shine Conditioner are perfect for this.

It can be such high maintenance and any products that can help keep the colour vibrant and improve the condition are a god send as goodness knows blonde hair can get pretty dry if it isn’t looked after. Enter the Provoke Liquid Blonde Colour Activating Treatment Shampoo and Intense Shine Conditioner*.
You may have heard of Provoke for doing the silver shampoo for neutralising brassy tones in platinum blondes. The Liquid Blonde range is aimed at golden blondes to brighten and boost the colour and highlights.
Provoke Liquid Blonde Colour Activating Treatment Shampoo
This is designed to tone and treat highlighted blonde shades. It enhances the warmth and depth and keeps hair colour fresh. It works in just one wash and contains Tamanu Oil to nourish hair.
So one thing I will say first is that it doesn’t tackle grease very well so I would recommend using a normal shampoo first to get rid of any grease and then go in with the Provoke shampoo so it can really focus on it’s job of restoring colour.
For those of you that have never used Provoke before you might find this next bit weird – you have to leave the shampoo on your hair for five minutes to let it do its work before rinsing off. This means you need to ensure you coat all of your hair not just your roots so the whole of your hair can benefit.
I know what you’re thinking, how do you time five minutes in the shower and what on earth do you do? Well I whack on some music and and listen for approx. a song and a half which is roughly five minutes and utilise this time to have a bit of a pamper, you know exfoliate or shave my legs (which I neglect more often than I would like to admit so now I have no excuse, especially now the weather is getting warmer!)
When you rinse this off your hair it feels a little weird and claggy, but fear not as the conditioner combats this for you.
Provoke Liquid Shine Intense Shine Conditioner
This strengthens and repairs damaged hair using light-reflecting particles and this also contains Tamanu Oil as with the shampoo. It protects from environmental damage and prevents colour from dulling.
The texture of this is thicker than your average drugstore conditioner and smells really good. This needs to be left on for 3-5 minutes depending how much conditioning your hair requires. Again I use music to time this and a little dance in the shower won’t go amiss whilst you wait.. no? Just me?
When you rinse this off it leaves your hair feeling velvet soft and nourished. The hair is left super shiny and it smells divine.
In terms of colour restoration, this does make my colour look more vibrant. I could tell from first use that it has made a difference to my hair as it looks brighter and less dull.
The texture of both of these feels high quality and this range doesn’t make a mess in your shower unlike the Provoke Silver Shampoo does. If you’ve ever used it you’ll know what I mean, purple stains everywhere!
It is recommended that you use this twice a week, which I have been doing and I have been really enjoying it and my hair has been reaping the benefits.
I would highly recommend this Provoke range if you have dyed golden blonde or highlighted hair as it has made a difference to the vibrancy of my colour and condition of my hair.
Have you tried anything from this Provoke range? I would love to know your thoughts on it in the comments below!
