As you guys know I’ve just got back off holiday and as the popular time to getaway is creeping on us I thought I’d share a few items I think are essential when going abroad for a holiday.
This is just a quick run through of some main essentials, there is obviously way more things you should take depending on your beauty routine!
My main advice for beauty travel products is miniatures! You don’t get much weight allowance for your suitcase no matter where you go, so as you only go for a short time take mini versions of everything to save on weight and space which means you can take more clothes;-)
Of course sunglasses are also a necessity!
Hair care
I would highly recommend hair products designed for holiday hair with UV protection.
Charles Worthington does a fab holiday hair range with “sunshine protection” including a shampoo, conditioner and spray for wet hair priced at £1.99 each at Boots. The shampoo and conditioner would last a good couple of washes if not 3 if your hair isn’t too thick.
If your hair is anything like mine you will need a Dehumidifier for those clammy warm evenings to spray on your dry hair before you go out! Lee Stafford’s version is good without making hair too crispy. This is also £1.99.
I also take a mini dry shampoo with me to freshen up my hair between washes but this isn’t pictured.
Skincare
Moisturiser with sun protection factor is a MUST and this Simple moisture cream with SPF 30 is perfect for even sensitive skin and so moisturising and so cheap – this was on offer in Boots for under £4.
Garnier Micellar water 200ml is usually £1 and this will last you the whole holiday and beyond. Makeup removing sorted!
As well as sun cream for the body you need After sun to soothe the skin after a day in the sun and keep it moisturised to maintain your tan! I love this Garnier one as it allows skin to breath and is very cooling. Anything with Aloe Vera in is also good.
Fragrance and lips
As well as your skin you need to protect your lips from the sun and Balmi is perfect for that as it contains SPF 15 and is super easy to apply as it is in a pointed shape for application straight to the lips with an easy remove lid.
I always take a mini body spray to freshen up in the day and this TB one has a lovely scent.
Perfume is very heavy as they are usually a big size and made of glass so this Flo Atomiser is perfect as you just spray your fave perfume into the atomiser and it takes 90% of the weight and space away! It’s so handy to throw in your handbag in the evening.
If you only have hand luggage all of these items are great as they need to be under 100ml (but remember you can only have up to 10 of these items in hand luggage)
Have you got any other essentials for travelling? Let me know below!
Thank you so much for reading!

Like you, I also like to take dry shampoo in case I can’t be arsed to wash my hair and it gets greasy. And also blotting sheets for my t-zone! 🙂 And yes, sunscreen is the most important!
