The hype over Glossier coming to the UK was real, and you know me I love a good hype and had to get on the bandwagon.
I read a lot of reviews and browsed their website multiple times and I just wasn’t sure what to get. the packaging is what made my mind up, and in the end I made a little order to test the waters.
The one thing I kept coming back to was the Balm Dot Com for many reasons, the main one being the packaging is just so damn insta worthy!
Balm Dot Com is a moisturising balm, the texture of which I would describe as a thick vaseline type formula. There is a huge choice of flavours each with different packaging and I wanted them all. In the end I decided on the Coconut flavour and the Birthday Cake flavour.
Coconut has a white and pink tube with a pink screw lid, the product is clear and tastes like macaroons (yes I tasted it when I put it on my lips, totally normal right?!)
The Birthday Cake has a gorgeous silver shimmer tube with an off yellow screw up and the product is clear with little glitter particles (you can see why I wanted this!). I was disappointed with the taste/smell as I thought it could be like birthday cake but it has a very subtle sweetness to it and nothing more.
The product is so thick it’s hard to squeeze out and it distorts the shape of the tube so take photos of it before you use it! A little product goes a long way and it feels lovely on the lips, very moisturising and not at all greasy.
These were £12 each which I think is steep to say you only get 15 ml of product, but the product is good quality and thick enough you don’t need that much of it, so to be honest I don’t mind the price.
I also wanted one of the Generation G Lipsticks as I had seen these were quite well reviewed and I have been after a good moisturising lipstick for a pop of colour.
These give more of a tint to the lips and aren’t drying. I settled on the colour Poppy which is a gorgeous red and I thought it would suit this time of the year and it meant my lips can be festive without being dry.
There are other products that have been really hyped up, including the primer, moisturisers and the milky jelly cleanser. Honestly I thought these were quite overpriced for what I considered fairly “plain” products and decided against getting any of these.
I was given a fairly generous sized sample of the Milky Jelly Cleanser in my order and I gave it a go …..
You also get some super cute stickers with your order which I think is a nice touch to the order.

I’ve tried boy brow and the milky jelly cleanser. Boy brow has changed my make up routine for the better; really natural and just adds a bit of shape. The cleanser smells lush and my face is so squeaky clean afterwards. I’ve been thinking about balm.com for a while and have also seen they have a new serum. Have you tried any of the cloud paints? Great post ✨
