Oily skin is something I battle with on a daily basis and I’m always longing for anything that helps to combat the oil and keep it at bay.
Alongside oily skin comes blocked pores and with that, blackheads. I am always on the hunt for a good skincare regime that can help me keep my skin clear.
That’s where T-Zone comes in with their new Bamboo and Charcoal range to help combat oily skin, keep skin clear and blackheads at bay.
I was sent their Deep Cleansing Face Scrub, Nose Pore Strips and Self-Heating Mask to try out*. I’ve given them a thorough go and I’m ready to report on the results!
Let me start by explaining the benefits of the ingredients. The activated charcoal acts like a magnet to draw out dirt, impurities and excess oil, which is beneficial to anyone with oily skin. The bamboo extracts help to control oil and the grapefruit extract helps purify the skin. All the products in this range are mineral oil fee.
Deep Cleansing Face Scrub
This scrub exfoliates the skin to remove dead skin cells that can block pores and leaves the skin looking clear and healthy.
Alongside the activated charcoal drawing out dirt, impurities and excess oil, the scrub contains natural bamboo particles which gently exfoliate the skin and grapefruit extract which helps to purify and makes the skin look natural.
Whilst the particles are not what I would describe as small, they aren’t harsh on the skin and my skin doesn’t feel stripped after use.
I’ve been using this every other day at night and it really clears my blemishes and leaves my skin feeling refreshed and cleansed.
The mask helps to open pores to draw out impurities, leaving skin feeling refreshed and purified. It contains natural clays which aids the mask to warm on contact with skin and opens up pores to allow the activated charcoal to draw out dirt and impurities, the bamboo extract to control excess oil and the grapefruit extract to purify the skin.
These come in little sachets of one use each and you apply it all over the face after cleansing the skin and leave it on only for a couple of minutes and let it work it’s magic. It warms up to a nice comfortable temperature and it feels like a lovely heated facial.
Nose Pore Strips
Look away now if you’re squeamish, but I did a poll on Twitter and 86% of you wanted to see the results from my nose strip, so scroll down quickly if you don’t want to see!
I don’t know why, and I don’t seem to be in the minority with this opinion, I find it so satisfying to see the results of a good blackhead nose strip.
The strips are black which means the results show up even better on these and you can really see the gunk it’s pulled out. The activated charcoal, grapefruit extract and bamboo extract are all at play here too in drawing out impurities and excess oil.
I used the strip after the heated mask so that all my pores were nice and open to allow the strip to really go to town.
You can see for yourself how well the strip has removed the blackheads around my nose:

I really enjoyed using this range as it is perfect for my skin type and has really helped me to clear my skin. I want to try the rest of the range now, especially the peel off mask and the no shine papers!
The range is really affordable and great value for the price in my opinion. You can purchase the range from Superdrug starting at £2.99.
