Beauty Favourites of 2017

2017 was the year of so many new releases in the beauty world, and so many brands really slayed it with their new products.

I’ve rounded up my favourite new products from 2017 which are products that I’ve absolutely loved and will continue to use into 2018.

First up, the most hyped release ever by Urban Decay was the launch of the Naked Heat palette in the summer. The hype around this was huge, and I was lucky enough to have been sent this by UD as part of their PR release. I absolutely LOVE this palette and I would go as far as saying it is my favourite of the year. The shades are beautiful and the warm tones speak to me on a level no others do. The formula is insanely pigmented and buttery and an absolute dream to blend. My full review of this is here.

2017 was the year that I really found ColourPop. I went a bit crazy for it and my collection has grown rapidly in such a small amount of time. I have palettes, super shock shadows, super shock highlighters, powder highlighters and liquid lipsticks a plenty. My favourite has been the pressed eye shadow palettes and I Think I Love You answers all my warm toned neutral dreams.

Still on the eyes, one of my favourite releases has to be the Stila Magnificent Metals Liquid Shadows. They released them individually, of which I got Rose Gold Retro, which you can get here*as well as in miniature packs for Christmas and I bought both. They’re lovely glittery liquids that can be used as a topper for a shadow or on their own and they have some serious glitter and shine. Shout out to Rachael who is my go to MM guru as she has practically every shade and has done a fabulous swatching post here.

The last year I really became obsessed with matte liquid lipsticks and they are now my go to lip formula. If you get the right one, they’re comfortable and long lasting and create a crisp look which you can’t get from lipsticks IMO. My favourite from the drugstore has to be Barry M Matte Me Up Liquid Lipsticks as they are easy to apply, comfortable to wear and last all day and are SO affordable. I’ve reviewed one shade here.

Higher end, I love the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks (I can see a major Stila relationship developing here) as again the formula is so comfy, the colours are pigmented and gorgeous, don’t budge and look lovely. I have Patina in full size which you can get here* (which I bought from Molly who started this whole love affair!) and various minis from the Christmas set which I got in a Beauty Bay Black Friday Haul here and from the Marks and Spencer Advent Calendar here.

I really enjoyed discovering the Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette this year, as you can get a contour, blush and highlight from one place and it’s great for bunging in your bag and topping up. The formula lasts all day and has even survived some gym classes with me! My full review of this is here.

Another Urban Decay discovery is the De-Slick Setting Spray for oily skin. This has been  a life saver for me and keeps makeup in place all day. A must have for us oily skinned gals. Full review here!

The fragrance of the year for me has to be the Ghost Sweetheart Forever Perfume. It reminds me of summer but you can use it all year round. My full review of it is here and for me, it’s the perfect balance between sweet and floral, my perfect combination! The bottle is so elegant and girly with the rose gold lid and slender pink frosted bottle. My full review can be found here.

So that’s the end of my roundup of 2017 beauty favourites. Did any of mine make it into yours? I can’t wait to see what releases 2018 will bring!
