Whoever first said that Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year was so right. I absolutely love the build up to Christmas and everything that comes with it.
The big day is very close now and I kind of don’t want it to end, although I did have over 500 people agree with me on Twitter that the build up was the best part!.
So I thought I’d put together my favourite things to do on the days before the big man comes.
On the build up to Christmas, watching Christmas films is a must. They always work to get me in the festive mood and leave me feeling Christmassy! My favourite Christmas film of all time is Arthur Christmas and it’s a tradition that my Mum and I watch it every year to get us in the mood. It’s the loveliest nicest funniest film and if you haven’t seen it already I urge you to watch it because it’s honestly fab!
Elf is a close second, followed by Love Actually and The Holiday, Santa Claus and Miracle on 34th Street! The list is endless which proves that Christmas films really are the best, I don’t care what anyone says!
Festive snacks are a must have whilst watching festive films. Gingerbread men, mince pies, cheese and crackers, Terrys Chocolate Orange are all in my list of Christmas treats I have to have every year. Hot chocolate topped with plenty of cream and marshmallows and festive flavoured lattes are my go to warm drinks at this time of year.
An essential at Christmas time is festive scented candles. This year I opted for Spiced Gingerbread from Bath & Body Works and next year I plan to get a Yankee Christmas Eve Candle! Having these burning whilst you stuff your face and watch lovely films is the perfect snuggly evening.
Spending Christmas Eve snuggled inside with Christmas lights on, candles burning watching films and eating lots of food is the perfect day in my opinion. Of course it wouldn’t be complete without a set of Christmas pyjamas to put on before bed!
So this is my last post before Christmas, as I won’t be posting on Christmas Day and the schedule will resume some time in the following week.
I want to take this time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and I hope you all have a wonderful time whatever you do, whether that’s relaxing, spending quality time with the family and eating lots of yummy food!
What’s your Christmas routine? I’d love to know in the comments below!
Thank you so much for reading!
