Clay products have taken the beauty world by storm recently, with L’Oreal at the forefront of the hype. The clay ingredient is supposed to detoxify and brighten the skin and remove impurities.
The clay ingredient in these products is supposed to detoxify and brighten the skin as well as remove any impurities.
I have finally gotten round to trying the Pure Clay Cleanser out properly which is a soap-free cleanser you use with warm water to clean the face.
PACKAGING
The Pure Clay Cleanser comes in a tube with a squeezy bottom. The top half is an opaque light green with the bottom half clear plastic which shows off the product inside which is a dark grey charcoal colour. The packaging is light with a hard plastic lid which clicks shut.
CLAIMS
The three pure clays detoxify the skin’s surface by capturing impurities, including excess oil and make-up residue whilst being non-drying.
FORMULA
The product is a dark grey charcoal colour that has a silky soft gel like texture. It’s soap free which is great for anyone with sensitive skin and the scent is pleasant and just has a crisp fresh smell, nothing perfumed or overpowering.
APPLICATION
Apply to a wet face in circular motions, concentrating on the chin, nose and forehead where the face produces the most oil. The gel-like formula transforms into a very light foam and the colour changes to a light grey.
It takes a fair amount of water to wash it away, and I would advise you to wear a towelling headband so it doesn’t go near your hairline as it’s a bugger to remove from there!
RESULTS
This left my skin feeling so clean and refreshed! It felt soft and clean and not at all dry or tight. It hasn’t helped control the oil on my forehead, but my chin which is the area most prone to spots has been wonderfully clear (I’ve probably jinxed it now, queue the spots appearing tomorrow morning).
PRICE
This retails at £5.99 from Boots and Superdrug etc. but it can be found on offer most of the time.
OVERALL
I would definitely recommend this to anyone that has oily skin and needs a good cleanse as it’s a lovely and fresh cleanser that leaves skin feeling lovely!

I’m just hopped on the charcoal bandwagon myself and I’m currently using the Biroe version of the charcoal face mask and I noticed an instant improvement in my skin in terms of spots but after the first couple of days I haven’t seen much of an improvement. I’ll have to give this one a go next 🙂 great review!

This must be new – I haven’t seen this around here yet. I finally got my hands on some samples of the L’Oreal clay masks and they’re quite good! It’s great that there are affordable, good quality skincare at the drugstore.
