This post has taken a while as there is a lot of stuff to appear here (oops) but here is the long awaited beauty haul from my trip to New York!
I spent so much money on clothes, shoes and makeup so here’s most of the makeup I purchased over my 10 days!
Sephora
This shop is AMAZINGGG its literally JUST beauty all in one shop! Although a lot of the products are highend so I could only afford the Sephora brand! I got three nail varnishes from their nail bar (which is heaven) and an under eye concealer which is super creamy and blends really well and really covers my dark circles! I also got the Nars lip pencil set free as my birthday treat which they give when you sign up to their beauty club! You get a Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella (the red) and a Satin Lip Pencil in Rikugien (a dusky pink).
Target
This shop is any budget beauty lovers dream! They have your typical drugstore brands cheaper than the UK and some other brands you wouldn’t find in England. I spend ages trawling round the beauty section and finally narrowed my choices down to these.
OPI polishes
I got the top coat because I have been needing a decent long lasting top coat and I thought that as OPI has a good reputation I would try it out! The gorgeous green colour you can see is called “Amazon Amazoff” (my boyfriend laughed way too much at this name) and so perfect for the winter season and I cannot wait to try it out!
Sinful Colours polishes
You used to be able to get these at Boots but I don’t know if you can anymore!? I’ve coveted the blue colour because its called Cinderella and if you know me personally you will know she’s my favourite Disney princess! So I was super excited to find this in Target readily available to buy! The other colour is called Rose Dust which is a gorgeous pink rose colour with a hint of shimmer and it looks gorgeous.
NYX
I’ve never tried NYX before and I know it is now available at Boots (yay!) I still had to pick something up whilst I was here so I got the Soft Matte Lip Cream in San Paulo (I think!? thats what it says on the bottom!). So far I’ve swatched it on my hand and it is super matte and creamy so I can’t wait to test it for it’s staying power! I’ll keep you posted!
Lip Balms
EOS here is like £7!! It was $2.99 in Target so I had to get one I love the packaging its a super cute idea.
How sweet is this vaseline?! Vaseline in the UK comes in boring tins – mini tubs is the way forward its so cutee! I will find it hard to part ways with the tub once I’ve used it…
Maybelline
I picked up the FIT ME concealer as I have heard good things about it in the blogging community and I wanted to try it for a while.
Revlon
I haven’t actually tried a Revlon lipstick as I’ve always just used the lip crayons so I picked up the Super Lustrous lipstick in Plumalicious as I thought it suited the season.
No7
No7 is now in the USA! It was so weird seeing an almost identical stand to the English ones I know so well but in America! It’s cheaper there too and they have things we don’t have including Lip Glacier instead of lip gloss! I picked up this beautifully matte makeup base as I didn’t think we had it in England but turns out we do! But anywho this is the primer I’ve been searching for for when my skin breaks out. I’m not excited to try it as that means I have to break out but I’m hoping it will work a treat! It has salicylic acid in it which is great for spots.
Conair
Not pictured here I got a dry shampoo brush which you brush your dry shampoo into your hair with and it is amazing! I’m hoping I can find one in England when this one dies!
Forever 21
I bought so many clothes in here – dresses, tops, underwear and jumpers and this fabulous looking eyeshadow palette and it was only like $9 which is super cheap and look how pretty! I’m in love with the pink one on the top row third from the left.
Urban Outfitters
These are the only beauty related items I got – it was 2 for $8 so what a bargain they’re huge as well. Very autumnal colours that I actually don’t have any of already!
I also got some super cool christmas bauballs that looks like inflatable balloon letters but they’re solid they’re super cute.
ELF
I wish we had ELF shops in the UK (it’s currently only available on the ELF website and on Ebay) as the shops are so lovely and I love having all their products in one place! It’s super cheap and I love the effective modern looking packaging. I got their poreless face primer which so far I’ve been loving (full review post to follow), the concealer brush which I intend to use to set my concealer with powder, the wrinkle refiner which was so cheap and I hope actually works as I struggle to keep the lines around my eyes covered and finally I got the matte lip colour in tea rose as I saw this on one of my american blogger friends blogs and it looked gorgeous!
MAC
My best til last! I went a tad crazy in MAC as you can see and just bought lipsticks and one lip liner (in currant, not pictured here) as they are cheaper than in the UK and my boyfriend was encouraging me to treat myself on holiday and that I did! Usually I wouldn’t buy that many lipsticks being on a budget like all of the time but I decided to splurge, yolo and all that!
The gorgeous packaging on the left is the limited edition Magic of the Night in Evening Rendezvous a beautiful purple colour in Matte. I will be doing a more in depth blog post so keep your eyes peeled! I got two Frost lipsticks one in Odyssey which has soon become my favourite autumn purple and was included in my October favourites for this reason here and I got New York Apple (obvs had to buy this whilst in NY!) which is a shimmery red and perfect for Christmas so I am super excited to use this! I also got two Satin lipsticks in Twig and Amorous.
Well I THINK that’s all the beauty related items I got whilst in NY… I have probably forgotten something!
Non-beauty wise I bought lots of clothes and two pairs of trainers – some all black Nike Roches (which are so comfy and like hugs for your feet!!) and some all white Adidas Superstars and I wore nothing but those for the entire holiday!
Has anyone else tried any of these brands? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
Thank you so much for reading!

I was excited to see what you purchased in NYC and this does not disappoint! 😀
I think Sephora brand makeup is so underrated! They have a lot of gems and are quite affordable. Those Formula X polishes are really good!
I have the shade Cinderella from Sinful Colors too – it’s so pretty and totally reminds me of her dress.
Forever 21 is a great place to get trendy clothes for cheap – I really like their costume jewellery! I’ve purchased many necklaces and rings from there.
The Urban Outfitters nail polishes are good quality and I love the bottle design – I’ve only ever bought them on sale too, why pay full price! 😛
And oh my gosh all those MAC lippies! Can’t wait to see them all swatched! 😀
