Too Faced are the proud owners of the cult Better Than Sex mascara which is a holy grail for a lot of people. However since they released their newest addition, Damn Girl Mascara, with a very similar looking wand, I had to know whether they performed differently and if one beats the other in the lash stakes. After being in possession of them both, I had to put them to the test.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review
The holy grail Better Than Sex Mascara has an hourglass shaped bristle brush which applies a collagen thick formula to thicken, lengthen and curl the lashes. It is meant to be smudge proof and last all day long.
Better Than Sex makes your lashes volumised and fluffy. For me, I find that when you’ve had this mascara on the go for a while it does start to flake off and smudge throughout the day and it doesn’t last as long as it claims. I also find that to get my desired volume I have to put a good 2-3 coats on. However, it was my favourite mascara and one I’d use for all special occasions.. until I was introduced to Damn Girl!
Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara Review
Damn Girl mascara has the same hourglass shaped bristle wand but thicker and uses a thicker blacker formula than Better Than Sex. It uses a creamy mousse formula with a special blend of whipped melting waxes to give extreme volume without a heavy feel. It uses innovative polymers to keep lashes flexible while lifting, lengthening, and locking in Long lasting smudge and flake resistant curl.
I find my lashes look more volumised and thicker than when I use Better Than Sex and it doesn’t flake off like BTS does. It is a great mascara for a night out as you can get thick black lashes that don’t look clumpy.
The difference between Better Than Sex Mascara and Damn Girl Mascara
When I went to the Glamour Beauty festival I was talking to one of the ladies on the Too Faced counter who described the difference between the two mascaras as: (Lauren, if you happen to be reading this, thank you for this wonderful quote!)
Better Than Sex is good Sandy at the beginning of Grease, and Damn Girl is naughty Sandy in leather at the end.
Verdict overall
I think that quote is the perfect way to describe the mascaras, as I would use Better Than Sex in the day and Damn Girl at night. But when Better Than Sex runs out I think I will just buy Damn Girl instead as for me, it ticks all of the boxes a mascara should! It’s now my new favourite mascara, pipping Better Than Sex to the post.

Both mascaras look beautiful on your lashes and it’s always good to know if you can’t get your hands on Damn Girl if it’s out of stock Better Than Sex is there as a back up! I’m definitely going to try out the mini of Better Than Sex I’ve got next once my current mascara is finished 🙂
