I don’t know about anyone else, but my skincare routine involves so many different lotions and potions and is a bit of a faff to maintain twice a day.
So when my boyfriend asked me why I need so many products, it led me to think – what exactly would I class as my absolute essentials?
I decided to narrow down the top 5 skin care products I could not live without if I was forced to only ever have these 5 for the rest of my life.
So if I could only ever have 5 skincare products in my routine it would be these essentials.
First of all it has to be Micellar Water. Having a versatile product to remove makeup is a must. If I could choose one it would be the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water as you can use it for both eye makeup and the face, it doesn’t sting and it leaves the skin feeling squeaky clean.
Next up it has to be a good Moisturiser. If I could only have one, it would need to be a multi tasker, so an anti-wrinkle and containing an SPF. This Simple Repair Anti-wrinkle Day Cream is the one I’m using at the moment and it ticks all the boxes.
When I was thinking about what I would need if I only have 5 things I was thinking about the products I always have to have in stock and this choice surprised me but it is definitely a useful one. Tea Tree Oil is my spot saviour when I’m breaking out and I couldn’t be without it.
Lip Scrub is a staple in my daily routine and is a total must when applying lip products which is most days for me! Lush Lip Scrubs are the best and at the moment I’m using The Kiss Lip Scrub from their Valentines collection – it tastes like sweeties and smells amaze.
Last up in my must haves is a Lip Balm. My lips get so dry so I try and keep them hydrated as much as possible and I always apply a nice creamy balm before bed. At the moment I’m loving the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla and Macadamia.
My actual routine involves a lot more products than this, but for me these are the bare necessities I NEED in my routine every day.
What products would you choose if you had to narrow it down to 5? Let me know below!

Ooh just five skincare… mine would be cleansing oil, micellar water, sunscreen, moisturizer, and lip balm! Like you, I use way more than just 5 but if I had to pack light, that’s what I’d pick!

Very similar to my picks then! I cheated a little as i have spf in my moisturiser! Did you struggle to narrow it down?

Oh yes, I had to vote items off the island 😆 I wanted to add toner, exfoliator, and eye cream but I guess these 5 are “essential”. 😛

Great post! You picked a great bunch of products. I would never ever be able to condense my ridiculously long routine into five products.

Micellar water and Nivea lip balm would definitely be in my top products too. I’d also have Body Shop’s Tea Tree products in there
