Whenever Urban Decay release something, you know it’s going to gather so much hype. You also know that without a doubt, the packaging is going to be banging.
This was definitely the case with the Trouble Maker Mascara*, the newest addition to the UD mascara family.
Mascara has to be the one makeup product that I cannot live without and would choose this if I was really forced to live with only one for the rest of my life. So I was pretty excited to give this beauty a go!
This mascara comes with some very bold claims. The formula is described as fail safe which volumises 13.7 times and lengthens as it separates. It contains not one, but two, black pigments which makes it blacker than black when it coats.
It also has the benefit of Vitamin E and panthenol which nourishes and conditions the lashes and a combination of polymers which help the mascara adhere to the lashes for lasting wear.
UD claim that you can be sure there’s no flaking, smearing or smudging when you wear this! They also reckon they’ve tried and tested it to be sex proof and sweat proof! It seems like it has a lot of claims to live up too!
Have you seen a mascara with prettier packaging than this?! The holographic rainbow effect is just to die for and I can’t think of a mascara that is more eye catching than Trouble Maker.
The wand has plastic bristles, much like the holy grail Benefit They’re Real or the Maybelline dupe, but without the bristles right on the end. Personally, I prefer softer bristles but given that the formula is meant to be so good, I wasn’t put off by this.
The wand applies nicely to the lashes and the bristles grab on to every single lash and separate the F out of them – I have never used a mascara that separates lashes more than this one! It also lengthens and curls like a pro and the result is beautiful.
The only thing I would say about this mascara is that it doesn’t volumise and it needs a good three coats before I get a desired result.
The mascara lasts all day – it doesn’t smudge under the eyes and there are no flakes. It’s a little tougher to remove than others but that shows it has staying power!
You can buy this for £19.50 in the UK, $24 in the US. Given that this is a high end mascara, I think this is very well priced.
I really liked using this mascara and the result of seriously separated lashes left me very impressed. The packaging is the most beautiful packaging I’ve ever seen on a mascara which definitely lifts it up higher in my estimations.
I think I’d buy it just to see it sitting pretty on my dressing table! If you like plastic wands and love separated lashes, then this is the mascara for you.
Thanks so much for reading!
