Autumn is here and it has bought along with it the cold weather and dark nights. Although as much as I love summer, you can’t beat the leaves turning shades of red and orange, snuggling up in jumpers and scarves and beginning the fruitless search for the winter coat whilst awaiting the arrival of Christmas.
Christmas and the events leading up to it are what makes the colder weather bearable, so I thought I would share my favourite things to do in the Autumn season.
Seasonal Shopping
First things first, whenever a new season hits, it’s inevitable that some shopping will be done! I’ve already bought 2 new jumpers, 3 new scarves and my winter coat and it’s still only October!

Carving Pumpkins
As well as decorating for Halloween, the best thing about October is carving faces out of a pumpkin, whether that’s a smiley face or something more complicated, it’s an activity that is so much fun and super satisfying when you light the candle and your pumpkin face is illuminated. Last year I made a (bad) kitty face and the boy made the batman sign (obvs).
Autumn Walks
There is nothing more satisfying than the crunch of leaves beneath your boots enjoying the chilly sunshine on a bright Sunday morning. There is something so pleasant about Autumn walks, a feeling you can only get at this time of the year.
Conker Hunting
Kind of a follow on from the above, searching for those shiny tokens amongst the fallen leaves is actually really fun and they make gorgeous autumn displays for the home (even if my purpose is to display them on the windowsills in the hope of repelling spiders).
Watching Fireworks
Bonfire night is a perfect autumn evening – snuggling up in coats, scarves, gloves and hats, waving sparklers in the air and the chorus of “oohs” and “ahs” as the sky is lit up with a million different colours as you stand next to a roaring orange fire.
Cosy Evenings In
Hot chocolates with all the trimmings (I’m talking whipped cream and chocolate flakes), candles, blankets and Netflix. What more could you want on a chilly evening?
Baking
Pumpkin in anything you can (cheesecake, cocktails you name it) and gingerbread men, winter baking is my absolute fave and such a fun activity to do when it’s super cold outside.
What do you like to do in Autumn? Do any of my fave activities make your list? Let me know below!

I’m in the market for some Autumn clothing myself! I want some new sweaters (or jumper as you call them! π )
I had to google what “Conker Hunting” was LOL! π So they’re chestnuts! Interesting, we never go hunting for them – the squirrels get them all first!
