If you’ve been following me for a while you will know how much I adore LUSH, so you can imagine my excitement when I caught news of a LUSH event in Nottingham to showcase their Spring and Fathers Day range.
I was gutted when the guest list was full, so my wonderful friend Lora Hull came to the rescue and very kindly gave up her place for me so I could go, as she knew how much I’d love it.
The event did not disappoint and I thoroughly enjoyed spending an evening surrounded by LUSH and trying out loads of products, it was a LUSH lovers dream!
When we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly and enthusiastic Nottingham team, who went round everyone and introduced themselves. We were also very kindly treated with donuts from the local business DoughNotts (which I can confirm are deliciously and incredibly filling) and fruit infused fizzy water.
Robyn, one of two who organised the evening, started the evening by explaining what LUSH is about and some of the campaigns they work on.
She told us all about the Free Andy Tsege campaign which you can read more about here and the petition they created for his release to get him back to his family. There are still some signatures required so do sign it if you can!
We were also told all about their new self preserving products which utilise natural ingredients to ensure the products stay fresher for much longer. There are a number of products that have this benefit now, so just look out for the sign on the packaging!
The booklet we got in our goodie bags (more about that later) contained so much info on all the ingredients they use, which you can pick up from any store if you want to know more!
Each member of the team were manning a different “station” so there was one on haircare, skincare, makeup, bath and shower, hands and feet, perfume and finally, telling us all about the spa services on offer and giving arm massages.
We were set free to go where we wanted so naturally Molly, Stacey and I headed straight for the spa section! The lovely ladies there explained the treatments available at the various spas around the UK, which you can see in the booklet above. All of the spas have a wooden log cabin feel to them which sounds super cosy and I want to visit one so badly!
We chose a massage bar and were treated to a wonderful arm massage, which are available for free at all LUSH stores so just pop in and ask if you need a little mid-town escape! They also give foot soaks and face masks in store too which is something I didn’t know before.
Next we visited the makeup section where a lovely knowledgeable member of the team explained the history of LUSH whilst showing us just how well the Ultra Band Cleanser works by drawing eyeliner, foundation and lipstick on Molly’s hand and wiping it off clean in one swipe – it was incredible.
Of course we paid a visit to the bath and shower section where we had a demo of the beautiful new Think Pink which has been re-formulated and re-made into a gorgeous sparkly pink ball. Just look at those colours in the water, how beautiful is it?! This isn’t available quite yet, another week or so I think, but they let us pick one up early so of course I had to do just that!
Finally, and most exciting, we got to pick our goodie bag!!! I chose the Mask of Magnaminty, The Comforter and the Mod Father Bubble Bar from the Fathers day collection.
Lucky for me, my Dad isn’t a massive bath fan so I get to keep it for myself! It smells citrussy as it contains Brazilian orange oil and I can’t wait to get it in my bath! In the fathers day collection there is also a Super Dad Bath Bomb and a Guitar Shaped Soap!
We also got to talk about the Toothcare range which isn’t something I’ve ever tried from LUSH so we were given small samples to try and I am so excited to use it, I got the Tooth Fairy and it’s pink and sparkly and I’m so intrigued to use it.
It was so nice to wander around the store uninterrupted and look at all of the gorgeous products they have on offer. The evening went so quickly and it was so lovely to catch up with my fellow Notts bloggers as well.
Thank you so much to LUSH Nottingham for having me and hosting such a wonderful event, I can’t wait to come to the next one! Also a huge thank you to the fabulous Lora for giving up her place for me so I could go!
