Everyone who uses self tan knows the struggle of the colour transferring onto your bed sheets or clothing when you’re trying to get the “just tanned” glow. Enter the Bali Body Clear Self Tanning Water Mousse*, which is a new product from Bali Body, a water based, full body self tan. Bali Body are my favourite self tan brand, and I’ve put this new “zero transfer” self tan to the test so I can give you my review of the Bali Body Clear Self Tanning Water Mousse.

What is the Bali Body Clear Self Tanning Water
It’s a transparent water to foam formula that contains no dye, which means it’s a clean and easy way to get the perfect fake tan at home, because the water based formula ensures zero transfer onto clothing or bed sheets. The formula uses 100% Natural DHA and environmentally friendly ingredients, which makes it the perfect option for anyone with sensitive skin or anyone in need of a natural self tan alternative. It provides a light to medium self tan with a formula that’s enriched with nourishing oils and natural ingredients to give the perfect tan that smooths and hydrates the skin.

How to use it
As always, before applying any fake tan, exfoliate and moisturise first. Apply the white foam formula evenly with a tanning mitt, ensuring you cover everywhere evenly. The formula is white in colour which makes it slightly harder to see if you’ve covered everywhere, but it leaves a shiny sheen to the skin and is velvety smooth so you can still see where you’re covering and it’s easily blendable so you can apply it without any issues. It gives results after a couple of hours, but leave on up to six hours for a darker tan.

Results of the Clear Self Tanning Water
I applied my fake tan and put on some light coloured tight pyjamas and got into my white bedsheets to test it out overnight. The smell of the fake tan is very faint and doesn’t emit the usual fake tan biscuit smell you expect. The formula did not transfer onto my pyjamas or my bed sheets at all, they were both completely tan free! I usually end up with some fake tan mark transference when I leave tan on overnight so this is an absolute game changer. The tan develops overnight so you can see the colour when you go to wash it off, and when you do it leaves a gorgeous tanned glow on the skin. It wasn’t at all patchy and even though there is no guide colour, it applied evenly. I was very very impressed with this, I think this is my new favourite tanning product! The lovely glow lasts about three days before it starts to go patchy and it fades away quickly if you can’t be bothered to remove it.

Overall
This is the perfect fake tan if you are usually sensitive to the ingredients in fake tan, you dislike the usual strong smell or fake tan, or you fake tan overnight and don’t like the colour transferring onto your sheets or pyjamas. It is a seriously clever formula and I’m super impressed with this!
