Having thick hair has made me reluctant to a hot brush for blow-drying my hair, but when I saw the Hot Tools Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser I knew I wanted to give it a go – it has an oval shape, dries fast, adds volume and detaches for easy storage and travel, sounds great right? For context, my hair is thick and shoulder length and I like a smooth finish but not super flat – so here’s what I thought.

Using the Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser
I found this is light to hold and really easy to use. You switch the mode you want along the bottom and begin to blow dry. It does emit quite a loud noise, so not one to use when you need to be a little quieter! I left my har until it was about 70% dry before trying it – it has a great blow force and it takes about two passes to dry a section of my thick hair. The oval barrel means you can reach right to the scalp and dry every inch of your hair and the bristles run through hair super easily.
Results of Using the Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser
It really smooths it down and limits any little flyaways, leaving my hair dry and volumised without being too big. It’s also great to revive second/third day post-wash hair – it smooths hair again and gives it a bit of extra life with added volume.
Overall review
I really love the results the Pro Signature Detachable Blow-Dry & Volumiser has given me – both on damp hair and on dry hair. I never thought I could use a hot brush on my thick hair but the force of the blow together with the oval shape really works for my hair, giving smooth and subtle volume. It’s become part of my weekly hair routine now for sure! I will say this is a little pricey compared to others you can get, but the fact that this is detachable and great for travel is an added bonus that I think gives it the edge over others.
