Makeup Obsession is the latest release from beauty company TAM Beauty, the makers of Makeup Revolution and Freedom. Makeup Obsession is brand whereby you create a custom palette by filling an empty palette with your own choice of pans.
They have a range of eyeshadows, blush, contour and highlight shades. You can fill palettes of between 4-12 pans and customise them how you wish.
I got this beautiful rose gold 12 pan palette for Christmas with a choice of matte and shimmer shades.
As this is exclusive to Boots you can have the palettes personalised in their Beauty Emporium so my Mum got mine personalised with my name in the bottom right corner which gives each palette and even more unique personalised touch.
Each shade is £2 and the palettes start at £4 and go up to £8 with a choice of black, white, silver, gold, rose gold and silver.
As much as I love this rose gold palette, as it is shiny it gets dirty SO easily and is so hard to clean, so I apologise for the mucky marks, no amount of scrubbing could get rid of that before my photo shoot!!
So I chose 12 shades for my palette which consisted of 3 matte shades and 9 shimmer.
As you can tell I was gravitating towards neutral, brown and orange tones!
You buy each in a plastic package, and they just snap out and pop into the empty palette.
I have swatched them all for you starting with Row 1 which is the one on the left to Row 4 which is the one on the right. Just a heads up, I am terrible at describing colours so soz about the upcoming awful attempts!
I realise that these all look very similar in the swatches but are all different shades in the pan! London is a beige shade with irridecent pearl like shimmers. Champagne is just that! Blondie is the least shimmery out of them all and its almost like a cream matte with shimmer hints, if that’s even possible.
Lucky Charm is a pearly cream shimmer. Scene is a nude shimmer. Starstruck is a light brown with shimmer flecks.
Precious Metal is a muddy brown with silver flecks. Espresso is very much a shimmery coffee with gold flecks. Rare is a gorgeous orange toned red with gold shimmer which is a contender for my fave of the palette.
Finally are my matte shades. Copper is a matte copper brown. Cinnamon isn’t a very cinnamonny colour (I know that’s not a word but idc) its more of a yellow toned gold. Burnt I think has to be my favourite of the entire lot, a gorgeous burnt orange.
In terms of colour pay off, the mattes have more than the shimmers, but the shimmers don’t take more than two swipes to get a decent depth. There is a fair amount of fall out but no more than you would expect from a £2 pan!
They’re not the most blend able eyeshadows I own but they are blend able none the less! Again what you would expect for the price.
I love that these palettes can be customised exactly how you want with whatever colours you like. I can’t wait to try their highlight and blush shades!
I also want to get a 4 shade palette that I can take away with me so I can choose exactly which shades I want to travel with.
You can get your palette exclusively from Boots.
