I purchased these three back in November in a Boots Black Friday deal and they are one of the best lip purchases I have ever made.
These matte balms are super amazing a must for any beauty lovers lip collection.
The application is super easy as the length of the tube and the shape of the crayon bullet allow for precise application and they glide on really nicely. They’re very soft and don’t dry your lips out. They are really pigmented so you don’t need a lot to get a good layer of colour. It might just be me going crazy but I’m sure they have a minty / menthol smell to them!
Their staying power is amazing and lasts after eating and drinking! When it does start to fade it still leaves a stain of colour on the lips so doesn’t even look bad if you forget to re-apply!
The colours I chose are 270 Fiery Flamboyante, 250 Standout Remarquable and 265 Fierce Redoutable.
270 is a gorgeous burgundy colour and perfect for winter evenings and nights out.
250 is a brighter red and this is build-able so you can choose how bright you want to go and it’s a great alternative to a red lipstick as it isn’t as heavy or high maintenance.
Last but not least is my favourite – 265 is a deep red/brown and it is so versatile it looks great for both the day and the night. This has been my go to lip colour for most of winter so far and it will continue to be so whilst the weather stays cold.
They are about £8 for one but they are on offer at Boots at the moment for 2 for £10 which is a bargain and watch our for other offers too.
Have you tried any of these matte balms yet? What do you think? Let me know below!

I’ve only tried the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain (which look just like these jumbo pencils but they’re not matte) and they do have a mint flavour to them – which I’m not a fan of! I like my lip products to be sweet!
I really like that deep shade #265 too – perfect for this time of the year!

I have one of these but I forget what shade. I also have a couple of the balm stains and some similar chubby lip crayons from Rimmel, L’Oreal & Wet N Wild.
