The question of which blending sponge has the crown for the best out of the holy grails on the market is always one I’m seeing in the Bloggersphere. Rarely is there a clear winner as opinion is quite divided.
Basic Beauty Tools are challenging this with their own version of the beauty blender and one cool addition – an easy storage and hygienic drying station.
My face is quite sensitive to spots so I try and keep my makeup tools as clean as possible and never like leaving my blending sponge just lying around for that reason. Basic Beauty Tools have answered my prayers with their Spongedry.
Basic Beauty Tools are really listening to our needs and have created beauty tools to rival the best. I was kindly sent their Spongedry* and their Foundation Blender sponge* to put to the test and let me tell you, I am impressed!
FOUNDATION BLENDER SPONGE
Their Foundation Blender sponge is made of a more porous material to other sponges that dries more quickly.
I’ve been using the sponge ever since I received it I have found that the porous material also allows you to get it to the right level of dampness which makes applying foundation a dream.
The shape of the blender is unlike any other popular sponges – it has a large flat side and a very pointed end which makes applying concealer a lot easier.
You can easily get into the inner corners and up against the lid. No more using two separate sponges for this – a bonus as it makes getting ready in the morning super quick!
The sponges are also Latex and perfume free.
SPONGEDRY
The Spongedry is a little egg shaped holder with three rings that house the blender and airs it out so it can dry properly. Press the feet to assemble the Spongedry and press the rings down to collapse it flat, which makes it great for travelling around with you. It mean your beauty blender can dry in a hygienic way.
The Spongedry also houses other blending sponges so if you are attached to a certain sponge, I would still highly recommend the Spongedry as a hygienic and easy way to store your blender!
The Spongedry comes in four colours – black, white, pink and purple so there is a colour to suit every dressing table and taste! The sponges come in three colours – black, pink and purple so you can mix and match with your Spongedry to create whatever combination you desire.
I was kindly sent a purple and a pink dryer with every blending sponge and I’ve really enjoyed using the purple/pink combo.
The Spongedry is £14.99 which is a one off payment really as it isn’t a product that will ever need replacing.
The Foundation Blender Sponges are only £5.99 which rivals the price of the Real Techniques sponge, a firm favourite blender.
FINAL THOUGHTS
I’m so happy I found Basic Beauty Tools as their Spongedry is now a staple on my dressing table! I absolutely love the idea behind hygienically storing and drying your blender.
I also really like how the Foundation Blenders apply my makeup and that you can get them to just the right level of dampness for applying it.
Thank you to Basic Beauty Tools for sending me their fab products to try, you’ve changed my beauty game!
Have you tried the Spongedry or the Foundation Blenders? I’d love to know in the comments below!

I love the idea of this, the sponges seem so affordable but can’t help but feel that they’ve gone a bit OTT with the prices for the dryer! Really like the shape of the sponge though so might be tempted to try it when I next need some (have a bowl of 8 currently)!
Tempting. I currently have 6 sponges in rotation (3 Beauty Blenders and ones from Japonesque, L’Oréal & Earth Threaputics). I’m always looking for a new Beauty Blender dupe.
I love these ones they’re so lovely to use x
Great post Sophie 🙂 would love to try this product as I am allergic to latex and find it difficult to find latex free sponges.
