Isn’t it such a hard task deciding what minimal makeup to take on holiday with you? If I had it my way I’d take my entire drawers full, but lol 15kg luggage allowance barely lets you take enough knickers for the week. So I thought I’d share with you the makeup that made the cut to travel with me, as well as what I used to store it in – the Flat Lay Co Makeup Bag.
The Flat Lay Co Makeup Bag is an absolutely brilliant design and idea – you lay it out in a big circle, pop in your makeup, use the drawstring to close it together again and its now in a nice neat bag shape. When you arrive, you pull the drawstring to reveal all your makeup in one place. No having to unpack or lay it all out, there it is in all it’s glory for you to see and find everything easily. Once you’re done, tighten the drawstring again and it’s all neatly packed away. It even has a handy carry handle. Genius!
This is an actual saviour for me, as otherwise I end up with my makeup strewn everywhere and it’s a total mess, this is such a neat and tidy and efficient way of organising it all. And let’s be honest, we all know I love being organised! I have the plain black 50cm size which is £14.50 and you can get it here*. They also have some fab colourful designs and I LOVE the tropical one which £17.50 here*.
The makeup that made the cut was very hard to narrow down and I was quite proud of the limited choices I made! I took my trusty Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2 Mascara* as it’s the bee’s knees and I knew it would give me amazing lashes for my evenings out (see my full review here.) Base wise I went for my trusty Estee Lauder Double Wear Light* in shade 2, which is the perfect shade for me when I have a tan. It’s lightweight with a decent coverage and it lasts. The perfect holiday foundation. To set, it has to be Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray* in the handy travel size.
For the cheeks I went with my Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer. It smells lush and gives the perfect holiday bronze or contour, whichever you prefer. For a bit of colour I go with Too Faced Sweet Peach Blush in shade Papa Don’t Peach. To highlight, I went with my Becca Shimmer Skin Perfector in Royal Glow* as the gorgeous rose gold is the perfect holiday glow.
Eyeshadow was pretty easy – it has to be ColourPop Yes Please palette. All the warm tones for holiday eyes. I also took my Pixi Liquid Fairy Lights in Rose Gold* and my Cover FX Shimmer Veil in Soleil* and used the matte shades from the Yes Please palette to compliment the liquid eyeshadows.
Lipstick wise it had to be the Charlotte Tilbury Kissing Lipstick in Coachella Coral* – it was the perfect mix of colour and moisture and looked fab with almost every warm toned eye look. My gloss of choice was of course the Too Faced Sweet Peach Lip Oil in Peach Please* and I had to throw in a nude for good measure for which I chose Urban Decay Vice Naked Heat in Scorched.
So that’s my holiday makeup lowdown! The Flat Lay Makeup Bag is my absolute new favorite travel accessory and you really need one in your life!
Thanks so much for reading!
